The 2017 NSX Is A 2017 AUTOMOBILE ALL-STAR

Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017

2017 NSX

The 2017 Acura NSX added to its list of awards when it was recently selected as a 2017 AUTOMOBILE All-Star. The #AcuraNSX was one of six vehicles singled out for their exceptional characteristics such as driving dynamics, styling and refinement and technological advancement. CardinaleWay Acura Las Vegas invites you to test drive this award-winning super car.

Accolades For The NSX
The NSX impressed the editors with its “electrifying driving performance and precision in testing on the roads of Deer Creek Road near Mount Charleston, Nevada.” It consistently “put a grin on drivers’ faces.” Its three-motor, 573-hp twin-turbocharged Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) powertrain allowed it to challenge past All-Star winners.

“Yes, the Acura NSX is a tour de force of advanced engineering, but it’s far from cold and impersonal,” said Automobile Editor-in-Chief Mike Floyd. “Instead, the NSX is a supercar that makes you feel like a hero regardless of skill level at the track, and it’s eminently accessible and easy to drive off of it. A true All-Star.”

Made in U.S.A.
The 2017 Acura NSX is designed, developed and manufactured in the U.S – the only supercar made in the U.S. It is produced at the Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio.

Acura NSX Named A 2017 AUTOMOBILE All-Star

Thursday, March 30th, 2017

The 2017 Acura NSX received another prestigious award when it was selected as a 2017 AUTOMOBILE All-Star. The Acura NSX, America’s only U.S-built supercar, was selected from a field of 23 contenders to join a select group of six vehicles singled out for their exceptional characteristics including driving dynamics, styling and refinement and technological advancement. Come to CardinaleWay Acura in Las Vegas to test drive this award-winning super car.

Accolades For The NSX
The NSX impressed the editors with its “electrifying driving performance and precision in testing on the roads of Deer Creek Road near Mount Charleston, Nevada.” It consistently “put a grin on drivers’ faces.” Its three-motor, 573-horsepower2, twin-turbocharged Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) powertrain enabled it to challenge past All-Star winners.

How AUTOMOBILE All-Stars Are Selected
The #AUTOMOBILEAllStars are chosen from a contender list of all-new vehicles or those that have been re-designed or are significantly new variants of vehicles that have been on the market in the U.S. in the 12 months preceding its test. The editorial staff spends several days driving the All-Stars contenders on both road and track. Votes are cast by private ballot.  After choosing the All-Stars winners, the staff then spends lots of seat time putting the contenders through long-term tests and challenging drives with lots of unusual driving features.

2017 Contenders
The Acura NSX was up against 22 other cars including Aston Martin DB11, Audi A4, Bentley Bentayga, BMW M2, Cadillac CT6, Cadillac XT5, Chevrolet Bolt, Chrysler Pacifica, Ford Focus RS, Genesis G90, Honda Civic, Infiniti Q60, Jaguar F-Pace, Jaguar XE, Lincoln Continental, Maserati Levante, Mazda CX-9, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Nissan GT-R, Porsche 718 Cayman S, Toyota Prius Prime and the Volvo S90.

Made in U.S.A.
Launched last spring, the 2017 Acura NSX is the only supercar designed, developed and manufactured in the U.S. It is produced exclusively at the Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio.

Business Insider’s 2016 Car of the Year: The Acura NSX!

Wednesday, December 21st, 2016

Acura NSX

In the three year history of the Business Insider’s Car of the Year Award, the new #Acura NSX beat some fierce competition.  The Acura NSX is a worthy winner and a triumph for Acura.

The Acura NSX is a mid-engine supercar from a Japanese brand, but it is actually an all-American machine, designed in California and built in Ohio.

The Business Insider does not use extensive scientific criteria for selecting the best vehicle of the year, they simply do not have the testing facilities. But they do consider each finalist in terms of three key questions: Did the vehicle stand apart from the competition?  Was the vehicle appealing to drive?  Did the vehicle involve a strong business case for the automaker that created it?

The Acura NSX proved to the Business Insider to be amazingly good to look at, a joy to drive and easy to live with. They also tried out the Acura NSX in  three different settings: on the road, on the race track with a transportation reporter and longtime NSX enthusiast behind the wheel and on another track with a pro driver.

No other vehicle generated as much attention from the public as the NSX.  Acura decided to go with hybrid technology, generating 573 horsepower and the twin-turbocharged V-6 offered power on-demand. The NSX proved to be highly forgiving, with the traction going on all four wheels, offering endless grip around corners.

The Acura NSX is a stunning supercar that gets prospective buyers in the showroom.  It’s a car that will set the pace and the tone for Honda and Acura in the coming years.

If you are interested in learning more about the Acura NSX or any Acura model, visit us at our #CardinaleWay Acura dealership in Las Vegas.  Our reputable Sales team can answer all of your questions.  We are the best in Nevada Acura! Acura NSX GT3 Takes on Tough Competition in Endurance Contest

Monday, December 5th, 2016

Acura NSX

Out on the street, Acura is noted for, among other assets, its design, safety and performance. Our customers at CardinaleWay Acura are familiar with the features that distinguish Acura’s full line of vehicles. Now, to kick off the 2017 racing season, a special-edition Acura NSX GT3 will go head-to-head against a line-up of other prestigious vehicles on the track. Acura will field two teams, each with a pair of the high-performance vehicles, at the 2017 IMS WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Championship. The newly launched Acura Motorsports program has named some of the top teams and drivers on the racing circuit to pilot this sleek, precision-engineered power plant.

Among the defining features of the 2017 NSX is a Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive power unit – an engineering achievement that stands alone against the competition. Its engine is a 75-degree, 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged DOHC V-6 dynamo. Many of the GT3’s features meet the same specs of those in the 2017 Acura NSX V6 hybrid production model, including its V-6 hybrid engine with three electric motors; its lightweight, ultra-rigid body; valvetrain, pistons and dry-sump lubrication system.

NSX GT3

In November, the Acura NSX GT3 began two days of preseason testing to prepare for the January 2017 season. The Acura Motorsports team was one of eight other teams to practice on the track at the Daytona International Speedway. Acura’s competition in January includes an elite roster of racing vehicles: Lexus RCF GT3; Porsche 911 GT3 R; Mercedes AMG GT3; Audi R8 LMS GT3; and Lamborghini Huracan GT3.

The #AcuraNSXGT3 is ready for an intense endurance contest. In the meantime, you can get behind the wheel of the 2017 Acura NSX hybrid, our next-generation supercar, which, according to the experts, redefines the sportscar driving experience. Visit our website at www.CardinaleWayAcura.

Acura NSX Ships from Brunswick

Friday, September 9th, 2016

The all new Acura NSX is all anyone from the world of Acura can seem to talk about. And for good reason. Acura’s new super car is quite a sight to behold and packs lots of power behind its flashy exterior.

The Acura NSX recently was shipped to Japan after being built in the United States. Acura’s parent company believes that more than 80 of these supercars will be sent through Brunswick by the end of the fiscal year. The NSX is believed to be a significant step forward for Acura. They believe that the advances they made developing the new technology and the performance aspects will be used in the design of their new vehicles.

This is great news for Acura buyers. The NSX is loaded with incredible technology and a powerful engine. It has three electric motors and a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine. This hybrid NSX has a nine-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and produces 573 horsepower. Acura hopes this vehicle will compete with vehicles like the Ferrari 348.

The completion of the Acura NSX is a huge success for Acura and buyers can look forward to seeing new technology and design on Acura’s new vehicles. If you are interested in viewing all of the great cars Acura has to offer, come see us at CardinaleWay Acura! Acura Deconstructs Ferrari 458 for Research

Wednesday, September 7th, 2016

acura logo 2

It was recently reported that Acura took apart a Ferrari 458 while they developed their Acura NSX. Many car manufacturers purchase their competition’s vehicles to benchmark their new creations, but it is not as common for the manufacturers to take the cars apart. Engineers looked at the Ferrari’s construction and the materials used to build the vehicle. Once the engineers were finished observing the vehicle’s pieces, they reportedly threw them away.

The engineers developing the NSX were impressed by the design and make of the Ferrari 458. They reportedly used some of the techniques they saw in while researching and reconstructing the 458. The goal of this project was to research new ways to develop the NSX.

The Ferrari 458 is not the only vehicle Acura used to research while they were developing the NSX. Acura also acquired a Porsche 911 GT3 and a McLaren 12C. Benchmarking is an important process when developing a new vehicle. This allows the company to compare the car they are creating to other vehicles in the same class.

Though the idea of taking a Ferrari 458 apart may make some people cringe, Acura is determined to create the very best vehicles possible that can stand up to big names like Ferrari and Porsche. If you are interested in viewing the latest vehicles Acura currently has on the market, visit CardinaleWay Acura. For more information about our services or our inventory, visit our website.

History of Acura – Part III

Friday, July 15th, 2016

Legend

Honda’s luxury division, Acura, made big splashes in the North American automotive market when it was first launched and up till the mid-90s. Launched in 1986, Acura’s forst two models – the Legend and the Integra – did extremely well, making Acura the top selling import luxury brand in the US. Later, it’s sports car, NSX, as well as the Vigor sedan enjoyed success in the US markets as well. However, by the mid-1990s, sales started to dip due to competition from other import luxury brands such as Toyota’s Lexus and Nissan’s Infiniti.

Still, Acura continued to be popular for offering luxury, performance as well as reliability. In 1998, Acura launched a redesigned TL model which helped improve sales due to its popularity. In the 2000s, Acura released a whole new range of vehicles, such as the 3.2 TL and the MDX, its first luxury SUV. The MDX was built on Honda’s global platform which was shared by the Honda Odyssey and Pilot, and it won awards from the likes of ‘Car and Driver’ and ‘Motor Trend’. In 2001, the 2002 RSX sports coupé was introduced. That year, Acura sold a record 170,469 vehicles in the US.

2004 saw the third-generation TL and an all-new TSX. The Acura RL was also redesigned and received much-needed technological and engineering upgrades. Acura’s AWD system featuring the super-handling technology helped their vehicles gain a lot of praise. Today, Acura’s lineup consists of the MDX, RDX, RL, TL, TSX, and ZDX. The Acura ILX is expected soon and a refreshed NSX is also in the works.
