2018 Acura TLX Safety Features

Monday, September 18th, 2017

CardinaleWay Acura of Las Vegas always has the safety of our customers first and foremost. That’s why our Acura location would love to introduce you to the safety features of the 2018 Acura TLX.

Street Smart

Acura’s goal is to create a society where there are no collisions and AcuraWatch has advanced safety and driver-assist technology to reach that goal. AcuraWatch is designed to improve awareness, assist with avoidance and help mitigate impact.

Blind Spot Information System

If the TLX detects another vehicle in the next lane riding along your blind spot, an indicator appears for you. If you attempt to signal in the direction of that vehicle, the indicator will flash and emit warning beeping sounds.

Rear Cross Traffic Monitor

Backing up is always a pain and this feature alleviates some of the pain by detecting approaching vehicles from either side while backing up. By communicating with the Multi-View Rear Camera, sound and arrow signals alert you of an oncoming vehicle.

Front & Rear Parking Sensors

Featured in the A-SPEC and Advanced packages, these innovative parking sensors detect when the vehicle is close to an object or surface with a series of beeps.

Vehicle Stability Assist

Wet conditions are always a nervous proposition when driving. Vehicle Stability Assist reduces the dangers of over and under steering and a loss of traction by applying brakes at each wheel as need and reducing engine power when necessary.

Visit Us Today!

CardinaleWay Acura of Las Vegas’ Car Washing Tips

Monday, August 28th, 2017

Keeping your vehicle clean is an underrated but important habit for you to maintain during your vehicle’s life cycle. Our CardinaleWay Acura location recommends washing your vehicle at least once a month, to keep the vehicle’s value as high as possible.

Don’t Use A Normal Rag

Old material that you find in your garage or closet are not suitable for drying off your vehicle. They may feel soft, but they can easily damage your vehicle’s finish if they’re used a lot. A gentler wash comes from a microfiber cloth, which you can easily find online.

Use Two Buckets

Wiping dirt on your car repeatedly can cause damage to the paint. That’s why using two buckets is a good method to avoid that. Fill one up with soapy water and the other with water. Use the soapy water to apply to the vehicle then rinse it off in the bucket with just water.

Brush and Vacuum Floor Mats

The vacuum doesn’t magically make it all disappear. A stiff brush should be used first to loosen dust and mud.

Don’t Use a Circular Motion

Circles cause small scratches that are extremely hard to fix. It is recommended that you move your towel in straight or z-pattern motions. This is because a scratch is much easier to fix in a straight line.

Clean and Protect Your Seats

Cleaning and moisturizing leather seats is extremely important, especially if your car sits in the sun.

Wear Car-Friendly Clothes

Zip-up hoodies, belt buckles and bracelets can always hurt your paint job if you aren’t careful. Do not wear these clothes while you wash your vehicle and you’ll be happy you did when it comes time to sell your vehicle.

Visit Us Today!

If you notice any scratches that need buffing or have any questions about your Acura vehicle, visit our Las Vegas dealership today! Our staff will be glad to help you with any issues you have and our service team is always prepared to tackle any problems you may have with your vehicle. The 2017 Acura ILX Is The Car for You!

Thursday, August 10th, 2017

Technology

The ILX is packed with intelligent features that help make the vehicle a more fun driving experience. An on demand multi-use display is available with an intuitive touch screen that combines all the controls you can ask for into a 7-inch screen. This allows you to control audio, climate and other programmed shortcuts at your fingertips with no issues at all. A keyless access system with pushbutton ignition lets you unlock the doors, enter the vehicle and start the engine while never taking the keys out of your pocket. It even remembers your preferred seat position and side mirror settings for you and another driver. Automatic climate control teams up with the GPS system to track the sun’s position relative to the vehicle while a solar sensor measures its intensity and changes system output to keep the set temperature for each of the system’s dual-zones. This allows both the driver and front passenger to enjoy the temperature that they want, rather than finding a happy medium.

Safety

Safety is personal with Acura, and it starts with the ACE body structure. ACE stands for Advanced Compatibility Engineering and this body construction is implemented into every Acura model to reduce and disperse forces in front crashes with any sized vehicle. A collision mitigation braking system is available to alert you to obstacles ahead, programmed to provide visual alerts when a crash is possible. It can even brake for you if you do not react in time. Vehicle stability assist comes into play during wet conditions and reduces the dangers of overcompensation while steering by applying brakes at each wheel as needed and when necessary.

How To Get Better Gas Mileage

Monday, August 7th, 2017

Gas mileage is one of the most well-known facets of your vehicle that can play an important part in keeping money in your wallet. The general public typically makes their decision on gas mileage in the vehicle they decide to purchase, but there are other ways to get better gas mileage on the vehicle you already own. Our CardinaleWay Acura Las Vegas dealership firstly recommends a regular maintenance schedule for your Acura vehicle.

The executive director of Car Care Council, Rich White, says, “Proactive vehicle maintenance is a motorist’s best money saving tip. Routine auto care not only helps save on fuel costs, but it helps identify small issues so they can be serviced before they become bigger and more costly to repair. With this information, you should make it a priority to make vehicle care a top priority in your life.”

Five Different Ways To Increase Gas Mileage

  1. Checking Tire Pressure: Keeping your Acura’s tires properly inflated improves its gas mileage by up to 3.3 percent.
  2. Using the Right Motor Oil: Utilizing the correct grade of motor oil recommended by Acura can improve gas mileage by 1 to 2 percent.
  3. Replacing Clogged Air Filters: Air filters become dirty and clogged over time, reducing efficiency in fuel economy. Being proactive and replacing them improves fuel economy, performance and acceleration.
  4. Checking Engine Performance: Check if your engine is running efficiently by bringing your Acura in for a checkup at our dealership to perform a routine maintenance check. If there are fixes to be made, you can improve gas mileage by up to 4 percent.
  5. Fixing It: Fixing big maintenance issues is extremely important, such as a faulty oxygen sensor. You can improve gas mileage up to 40% in certain major issues being resolved!

Acura: Best Value Luxury SUV & Crossover Brand

Thursday, March 16th, 2017

Recently, Acura was named America’s Best Value Luxury SUV & Crossover Brand in Vincentric’s 13th Annual Best Value Awards.  The 2017 Acura MDX was named the Best Value Luxury Intermediate SUV/Crossover, as well.  Quite an accomplishment, to say the least!

Each year, Vincentric analyzes all model year vehicles to determine which is the best value winner in each segment.  They look at a wide variety of cost of ownership measurements using eight different cost factors.  The cost factors examined include depreciation, fuel, financing, insurance, fees and taxes, repair costs, maintenance and opportunity costs. Each vehicle is also evaluated in all 50 states plus the District of Columbia, using a range of insurance profiles and annual mileage intervals.

Acura is also the first luxury brand awarded top safety ratings for every model in its lineup. Each one earned 5-Star Ratings for safety from NHTSA.

At CardinaleWay Acura Las Vegas, we’re proud of these achievements by Acura, but we’re not surprised.  After all, #Acuras are all about high performance, luxury and safety. Recently, the 2017 Acura MDX earned the Best Luxury Three-Row SUV For The Money designation from U.S. News and World Report—for the fifth year in a row!  It’s the best-selling three-row luxury SUV of all time, and worth a look.  If you’re interested in seeing the Acura MDX redesign, come to CardinaleWay Acura Las Vegas for a test drive.  You can also view our entire inventory online at www.CardinaleWayAcuraLasVegas.com. Acura MDX 2

This is the second of two blogs highlighting the many safety features of #Acura’s MDX Crossover mid-size luxury SUV.  There are so many features and thus, so many reasons why the popularity of this vehicle continues to grow in its third generation.

How safe is the MDX Crossover?  In addition to the standard safety features (numerous airbags, stability and traction control and LED daytime running lights), other safety features are included in all MDX models.

The AcuraWatch Plus is a suite of active safety features:  adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation, forward collision warning, lane keeping assist and lane departure warning. In order to prepare the MDX vehicle and its occupants for a frontal impact, the collision mitigation braking automatically applies the brakes as needed and tightens the seatbelts.

An Overview Of Acura’s Safety

Wednesday, August 24th, 2016

Acura Safety

Acura has an impressive record of integrating safety features in its vehicles. It is the conviction of the carmaker that when you own and drive any luxury car, the experience should be highly enjoyable. While its designers and engineers focus on the various exhilarating feature’s of the various vehicles, one of the top priorities of Acura has been safety for its occupants.

For instance the RDX, TLX and ILX for the model year 2017 and the RLX and MDX models for 2016 have all been accorded with 5 start ratings on the side impact tests and the font crash tests of NCAP. The last two models for 2017 are yet to be tested.  The above mentioned vehicles have also earned five-star rating in the Overall Vehicle Scores.

But such an impressive performance in the category of crash testing is not new for this carmaker. In 2009, Acura had earned the distinction of becoming the maiden luxury brand to earn the a five-star rating from NHTSA in the category of crash safety for the side impact and front crash tests for all the models.

The same year saw Acura becoming the maiden carmaker to have all its models get a designation of Top Safety Pick from the IIHS or Institute for Highway Safety.  The 2016 models of RDX, MDX, RLX and ILX have all earned the ratings of Top Safety Pick+ and this is IIHS’ highest safety rating.

The engineers in Acura have always given high preference to the safety of the vehicles. Way back in 1987 which was even less than 12 months since the company made its debut, an airbag for the driver was provided as a safety feature for its Legend Coupe. It was more than a decade ahead of the agencies making the same mandatory in the cars.
If you want to test drive an Acura, just drop in at CardinaleWay Acura – Las Vegas.

Acura Commits Itself To Safety For Its Drivers

Monday, August 22nd, 2016

Acura Safety

The safety commitment of Acura means you are assured of a continual and advancing safety systems. It did not happen overnight.  Acura is engaged into development of sophisticated safety systems since the last 20 years silently yet continually.  These safety technologies aim to improve the stability, enhanced impact protection and greater driving control. IN a nutshell, these advanced technologies help a driver to operate the car with greater safety.

The different technologies are included all through the car from the seats’ design, control systems, brakes, steering, and the frame. The process started with a die-hard dedication to incorporate thorough research and sophisticated design in labs that dedicate themselves to state-of-the-art safety innovations.

One of the memorable achievements for Acura has been incorporation of ACE or Advanced Compatibility Engineering that builds up protection against frontal crash into the body structure of all present Acura models.

Apart from protection against impact, Acura also offers a wide range of safety related standard features in all its cares. Some of them include VSA or Vehicle Stability Assist, Brake Assist, anti-lock brakes and dual-stage front airbags.

Many of the safety features of Acura cars address child safety issues ranging from latest anchors for securing child seats and advanced airbag sensors to auto up/down feature of the windows and auto-reverse safety for its moonroof.
In fact Acura has had the distinction of becoming the first luxury automaker that listed down safety ratings prescribed by government on its factory window sticker. No doubt it displayed the carmaker’s dedication and commitment towards safety f the passengers.  All its new models are developed as a fresh opportunity towards providing sophisticated safety technologies so that your driving is safer and more relaxed. The goal of Acura is to keep you secure and safe on the roads by making safety a top priority.

Acura’s Driver Assistance Features On The RDX – Part 3

Friday, August 5th, 2016

RDX Safety

The exterior body and body structure design of the 2017 Acura RDX  has been built in such a way so as to enhance and maximize the protection of its driver and passengers. The design structure is made to optimize crash compatibility in side and front collisions using the ACE or advanced compatibility engineering of the RDX body structure.

The ACE body structure design uses a network and chain of structural elements and components that are connected to each other that help distribute the frontal crash impact evenly and equally throughout the entire body of the vehicle across the front and rear. ACE is the latest generation of car engineering and uses extra braces at the front and rear corners of the RDX to imbibe and distribute the energy from an impact or collision that may affect just a narrow part of the car. The energy is distributed throughout the front and back of the car to absorb the collision impact and forces.

The braces in the outer corners of the car are designed to carry the load of the impact towards the middle or center of the car frame so that the collision or impact energy can be evenly distributed in and around the cabin area.

The advanced technology and management of the energy and forces of a frontal crash or collision help to overall reduce the transfer and movement of forces to the compartment where the passengers are seated and help to evenly distribute the forces of collision in case of a crash with other vehicles.

Visit the CardinaleWay Acura showroom today and test out the ACE safety features of the Acura RDX.

Acura’s Driver Assistance Features on the RDX

Monday, August 1st, 2016

RDX Safety

The safety features in the Acura RDX 2017 are unbeatable and very high tech. Let’s take a quick look at some of the safety features of the Acura RDX 2017.

The RDX comes with a state of the art six airbag system with two airbags for the front and two airbags for the sides in the front. There are also two side curtain airbags that cover the front and rear seats too. This airbag system is very sophisticated and provides the ultimate levels of comfort, safety, and protection for the driver as well as the passengers in the front and at the back of the car.

All the five seats in the RDX have head restraints and three-point seatbelts. The front seats come with tensioners that limit the load. The front airbags come with multiple thresholds, two-stage inflators and can inflate at varying degrees depending on the severity of the impact or crash, usage of the seatbelt and other factors. The front airbags must work well with the seatbelts and compliment them to reduce the possibility of injuries to the upper body and head in case of frontal impacts and crashes.

The front passenger seats have sensors to detect if someone is sitting there or if the front passenger is too small for the airbag to deploy safely and not injure him. The front airbags can be disengaged for this reason if necessary.

If there are side impacts the SmartVent front side airbag will inflate to protect the driver’s and passengers’ upper body.

Visit your nearest Acura showroom today and try out the airbag safety features.
