CardinaleWay Acura Recommends Visiting The Auto Collections Exhibit In Las Vegas

Thursday, August 17th, 2017

One of the best things to do in Vegas outside of gambling and the likes is to visit the LINQ Hotel & Casino on the Vegas strip between Spring Mountain and Flamingo Roads. The Auto Collections Exhibit has over 300 classic cars including muscle cars, racing cars, touring roadsters alongside many others and it’s all for sale!

This show is for car snobs and car noobs alike! You can find this show on the fifth level of the LINQ Resort & Casino and if you don’t have money to buy you’re more than welcome to take pictures of the vehicles. This exhibit is unique in that you’ll see lots of Rolls Royce vehicles, as well as old-school Corvettes, Volkswagen Beetles, Impalas, Ferraris and military vehicles.

Military vehicles include 1963 Chevrolet Nova Memorial Racecar that is on display for all of the fallen and living United States Marines in the Iraq war. Another military vehicle that’s shown is the 1941 Willy’s military Jeep that was used in the beginning of WWII.

If you show up with at least $350,000 to spend there are a few vehicles to consider. First, is the 1986 Ford R5200 Evolution, another is the 1967 Rolls Royce Phanton V PV23 and the top of our list would be the 1930 Duesenberg J Murphy Town Car.

On top of that, Jimmy Velvet, a singer and longtime friend of Elvis Presley, signs autographs and books at this exhibit on certain days of the week. Visitors are also welcome to watch old commercials as well as a Johnny Carson clip in which he describes his own classic car collection.

Our Las Vegas dealership hopes that you can squeeze The Auto Collections Exhibit into your schedule. We really believe that this is a unique experience to check out some of the rarest cars on the market today. Our dealership also invites you to visit us to see our Acura new cars as well as Acura used vehicles. Acura’s Driver Assistance Features On The RDX- Part 2

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016

RDX Safety

The Acura RDX 2017 has a very good airbag safety system. If the car experiences a side impact or collision, the side curtain airbags will deploy and inflate downwards from the doorframes of the car on the side that met with the collision to protect the front and rear passengers sitting in the RDX.

The seatbelts in the Acura RDX come with an automatic tensioning system that will first tighten around the passenger to measure his size and then adjust accordingly to his size and body type. On the first few seconds of the impact or collision, the seatbelts will automatically tighten around the body of the driver and passengers to help hold them tightly in position and keep them in their seats instead of being flung around in the car or prevent them from being thrown outside the car.

The seatbelts also come with load limiters to prevent the automatic tensioning system from causing too much pressure on the bodies of the driver and passengers. These load limiters help to slightly reduce the tension of the seatbelts on the body and adjust the pressure to help lower the force.

These safety features apply to adults as well as children traveling in the RDX. The sophisticated airbag sensors and anchors in the RDX help to secure the child seats 100%. There is an additional system called LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) that use anchors and tethers to make the seats child compatible without the use or need of seatbelts. The windows and sunroof have an auto reverse feature to stop them from closing if they encounter a finger, hand or any other obstacle in their way while closing.

Visit the CardinaleWay Acura showroom today and check out the seatbelts, airbags and child safety features.

Second Gen Automated Vehicle from Acura- I

Wednesday, July 20th, 2016

Acura

With global warming and pollution becoming major causes for concern a lot of car manufacturers are starting to develop autonomous cars and Acura is one amongst them by introducing its second-generation automated development vehicle.

This second-gen vehicle from Acura is a modified version of the Acura RLX Sports Hybrid SH-AWD and is a new autonomous development vehicle that collects information from various sensors and compiles all the information together in a process called sensor fusion.

This allows car engineers and testers to validate the information received from each signal accurately. The vehicle uses a special radar to detect the position and size of outside objects around the car and determine their speed and velocity to avoid collisions.

The Acura sensor fusion feature is also used by Acura’s present AcuraWatch driver assistant suite and forms the main safety feature in all Acura cars and other car manufacturers too. While the Acura second gen automated vehicle was being developed and manufactured it was being equipped and installed with inbuilt radar systems and Lidar sensors to enhance the safety suite of the car.

The car was also installed with state of the art cameras and GPS sensors which have high-resolution image and computer processors to produce images and capture pictures of a very high quality. This allows for improved circuitry and better more advanced cabling. The sensors also allow for overall better heat management over the car systems which are in use in all of Acura’s 2016 car lineup.

Visit the CardinaleWay Acura showroom today and try out the all new second gen automated vehicle from Acura.

The Original NSX was an Inspiration to the McLaren F1- II

Friday, June 24th, 2016

Acura Logo

We’ve already talked about how amazing it is that the Acura NSX was the benchmark car in terms of design and handling for the McLaren F1, placed high above competitors like Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborghini. Gordon Murray had the opportunity to check out the NSX when Honda was helping make engines for his F1 team, and he hasn’t looked back since.

But what was it about the NSX that made Murray such a fan? Was it its mid-engine layout? Possibly. One of the references Murray had been previously using, the Porsche 911, had a rear engine layout that caused a little bit of drag, something that the NSX almost entirely eliminated.

That said, Murray was also a fan of the NSX’s light, hardy, aluminum suspension and its drive-by-wire throttle. He copied the throttle for the F1 unabashedly, giving credit where it was due. Murray also raved about the driving position in the NSX, saying that it offered the best comfort and handling possible. Murray even liked the air-conditioning units in the car. Needless to say, he was a fan.

Of course, Murray did wish the NSX had more power, and that was one of the things he wished to solve with the McLaren F1. The 627 horsepower V12 that sits in the F1 right now gives it more power than the NSX, but most other design specifications remain NSX inspired.

The McLaren F1 is an amazing car, no doubt, but it owes a great deal of gratitude to the NSX for its excellent design and handling. For more details, contact, CardinaleWay Acura.

The Original NSX was an Inspiration to the McLaren F1- I

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2016

Acura Logo

The McLaren F1 is as close to poetry as automobiles can get—fast, sleek, and with superior handling, the car was engineered and designed to be the pinnacle of automotive excellence. That said, the brilliance of the McLaren F1 has a lot to do with another car—the Acura NSX.

The story goes like this—Acura at one point supplied engines to Gordon Murray’s F1 team. It just so happened that they were producing and working on the NSX at the time. This serendipitous series of events meant that Murray was able to test the early versions of the NSX.

Now, Murray had been thinking of the F1 a lot at this point. He had many cars held up as models and ideas to choose from, including luxury and sports models from Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche. However, after checking out and driving the NSX, his ideas of what the F1 needed to be underwent a seismic shift.

Murray decided that the McLaren F1 would have to be faster than the NSX, of course, and all the other competitive cars in the same vertical, but he also resolved that the NSX’s design features, performance features and handling would be the benchmark for the McLaren F1.

Want to know more about what exactly excited Murray about the NSX? Read out page entitled The original NSX was an inspiration to the McLaren F1- Part II to find out more.

The First 2017 Acura NSX was Sold for 1.2 Million

Monday, June 20th, 2016

brrfvev

Usually, when people buy cars, even luxury or race cars, they tend to like bargains. There are long negotiations, and every aspect of the car is broken down into compartmentalized units that all come with a suitable price tag.

Every car, the market seems to believe, should be bought at a price it is worthy of, not more or less, and this fragile system has remained in place for a while.

So, how exactly is it that the first 2017 Acura NSX sold for a cool $1.5 million, especially when the sticker price is only $156,000?

Is it because this car is the coveted VIN 001?

Or is it because most of the proceeds from this sale would go to charity?

The buyer who paid this amazing amount, Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports, must have decided that the car was certainly worth the price he paid for both the reasons articulated above.

Of course, he probably also has excellent taste, and really appreciates the jewel of design and engineering that the 2017 Acura NSX is.

Now, though Hendrick bought the car, he still doesn’t have the right to order the first 2017 NSX because the car isn’t even in production yet. Therefore, his purchase is more of a symbolic one, a gesture only strengthened by the fact that he has purchased other V 001 models and houses them in his museum in Charlotte, N.C.

The two charities that will benefit from the sale of this NSX are the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, and Camp Southern Ground. For more details, walk into CardinaleWay Acura today.

Interior and Tech Features Of Acura NSX

Friday, June 17th, 2016

Next-Generation Acura NSX Interior

Acura has a winner on their hands with the NSX, which can give Ferrari a run for their money. Acura has gone one step ahead of the rest of the available supercars. It didn’t just want a fast-torque, high rpm screamer but one that was practical enough to be driven around town every day. Supercars too often focus so much on the outside and improving the engine specs that they don’t get enough time to look into the interiors or give driver comfort a priority.

This car was different from its inception. It has taken almost 12 years to arrive but it seems to be time well spent. Acura, in its bid to make it livable, has put a great deal of effort to give the interiors of the NSX an extremely upscale feel.

The cabin may be compact and a bit cramped, but it is not uncomfortable. The low-stung posture, the epic A-pillars, one of the thinnest, give you enough front visibility as well as sideways visibility. The power adjustable bucket seats with adjustable lumber are very comfortable. It is low. So, the rooftop never cuts in to the front vision of a driver.

The car has standard rear assist and emergency brake assist, tire pressure monitor, analogue tachometer and digital gauges like the speedometer, a compass and one showing the outside temperature. There is also a trip meter. There is hands-free entry and one-touch power windows. There is also climate control, front and rear defrosts, fan speed control and a touchscreen display with some controls also mounted on the steering.

The carbon fiber steering wheel looks elegant. However, surprisingly the tilt and telescopic changes on the wheel have to be made manually. Since this is a gas-hybrid engine, it uses a dual clutch automatic with pedal shifters which sit behind the steering. The most interesting aspect of the cockpit is the large knob that sits in the middle. It allows you to select a few dynamic drive modes like quiet, sports, sports plus and track mode (the car feels best in this mode, true to its sports car lineage!).  The car has a very powerful computer which controls the hardware. As a result, the steering is unresponsive and the pedal shifters are just simulators to give you feedback.

This is a beautiful car. If you want to take a look, come to CardinaleWay Acura.

Braking Technology Used In the Acura NSX

Wednesday, June 15th, 2016

acura-motorsports-nsx-gt3

The Acura NSX is a superfast, super-smooth car which has been designed specifically for the racetracks. Its handling is agile and smooth. A very high quality braking system has been used to bring the car to an instantaneous halt as soon as the brake pedal is pressed. Stability control and traction control assists have been added to this feature-rich car to provide you with that extra bit of control when you are taking those sharp turns on the track or a blind corner on the road.

An antilock braking system (ABS) has been provided in all the four wheels of the car and the car also features front and rear ventilated brakes. NSX has proven credentials when it comes to extreme braking. The powerful brakes however won’t overwhelm you or jeopardize the quality of your ride. High quality shocks for damping the impact of extreme braking as well as the roughness of surfaces have been integrated into the car to give you the best journey of your life, every time.

The Acura NSX is equipped with with Brembo six-piston front calipers and four-piston rear monoblock calipers. The car has twin-rotors which are made of extremely light-weight carbon composite material (CCM). The calipers compress the rotors to provide stability. These rotors are adaptive to a range of temperature and provide optimum function.

As the NSX can easily breach the 190 mph barrier, it is therefore a challenge to keep the brakes cool despite the fact that it uses CCM technology.  The NSX has NACA ducts placed underneath to pull air of the flat floor. It then channels the air to the rear brakes and rotors via hollow aluminum subframe. This provides the perfect balance and stability between the front and the back and you can always enjoy a comfortable ride.

The Acura NSX and other Acura vehicles are available for test drives at CardinaleWay Acura.

Acura’s Commitment to Sound Safety in Each of Its Vehicles

Monday, June 13th, 2016

2016-rlx-exterior-with-advance-package-in-slate-silver-metallic-brick-road-11

Acura gives the highest priority to safety along with performance in all its cars. Even in pursuit of high performance and best passenger experience, Acura ensures that safety is never compromised.   Most of Acura’s cars have received the highest ratings of safety from rating institutions in America. Its commitment to safety is well known.

Acura has considered the safety and peace of mind of American drivers and their passengers from the time when it first debuted in the market. In 1987, less than a year after its appearance, Acura offered a front driver’s airbag in its “legendary” Legend coupe, almost 11 years before it became mandatory in the USA. From 1989 onwards, airbags were made standard on all Legend models and trims. Acura had developed an Anti-Lock Braking (ABS) system and trademarked it. It first appeared in the 1988 Legend but was soon used in other models of Acura’s lineup as well. Countless additions and alterations have been made to create the perfect safety net in all Acura cars.

The 2015 Acura RDX and MDX models had received 5 stars on all the NCAP side impact and front crash tests. They also received 5-star overall vehicle scores along with the ILX model for that year as well. 2009 was a very successful year for Acura. It received the NHTSA awarded 5-star crash safety ratings for all its models lined up, that year. The same year Acura became the first company to have all its models receive a ‘Top Safety Pick’ rating from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS). After 2012, all its vehicles have received the highest possible rating of “good” in all the crash safety tests.

Find out more about the safety features of Acura cars by test-driving one from CardinaleWay Acura.

Acura NSX is an Enchantress with a Lot of Sensuality

Friday, June 10th, 2016

vwvwrv

The Acura NSX is a twin-turbocharged V6, 24 valve DOHC monstrous supercar with the oomph of a seductress. The sinuous sweeps and bends all over its body add a lot of outward appeal to the car. It is butter smooth, efficient under the hood and very desirable.

It also has 20×11 inch alloy wheels which add more to its glamor. Further its low-slung stance, low cowl and slim pillars make it a terrific fast-road vehicle. These features also improve front visibility.  It delivers aerodynamic performance every time you step into the cockpit and take it for a fast ride. Acura describes it as an “aggressive beauty”.

Acura extensively used superlight, flexible yet robust carbon fiber into the body of the car to give it the strength and the flexibility to withstand the strain and the twisting motion the car experiences at very high speeds. Plus, carbon fiber looks sleek and glamorous. Honda has tapped into vast experience, garnered from successfully designing some of the most notable and successful sports cars of the past few decades for designing the NSX. Although some feel that the flair and attitude of the original NSX is somehow missing and that Honda has unnecessarily made the whole concept very complicated.

There is a carbon fiber NSX exterior sports package in which you get the rear diffuser, front spoiler, side sills and dark chrome exhaust finisher all done up in carbon fiber for a neat and distinctive look. Acura follows a philosophy of “interwoven craftsmanship”. This means materials for car components are chosen keeping two factors in mind- its usefulness/performance qualities and its aesthetic appeal.
