What is Acura and How is it Different from Honda?

Acura 1

The concept of global innovation has been a rather tricky area to master, but the Japanese seem to have managed it seemingly effortlessly. Whatever the sector, Japan has proven to be a pioneer. Companies that originated from Japan have become world leaders in business, technology, automobiles, and communications.

One shining example of Japan’s superior workmanship is Honda. This automobile manufacturing company was first established in 1948 in Hamamatsu, Japan. Its headquarters now reside in Minato, Tokyo. A decade after its inception, Honda became the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and it has remained so since then. It has also climbed the ranks and become the number one manufacturer of internal combustion engines, pushing out more than 14 million units every year. On a global scale, Honda was ranked the eighth largest vehicle manufacturer, standing only behind Peugeot Citroen, Toyota, Nissan, Ford, Hyundai, Volkswagen, and General Motors.

As Honda continued to grow, it achieved a great ranking in the automotive industry. To express its continuous dedication to innovation, Honda launched its very own luxury car marque called Acura in 1986. It was first established in the United States and Canada, and it was later introduced to various other countries. Acura holds the torch of being Japan’s first luxury vehicle brand. It markets luxury, high-performance vehicles that have taken the world by storm. The brand’s first vehicle, the Legend, proved to be such a success that rival brands like Nissan and Toyota also launched their own luxury divisions. With eye-catching models like the NSX, RSX, and TSX, Acura has certainly captured the attention of fans everywhere.
